Varsity vs Danville High School Win 1st half MS (home) 6 Danville 0 Final 9-0 The girls moved to 14-3 on the season with a great showing on senior night. I was really proud of the senior’s unselfish play. All 8 of our seniors started, with injured Hadley Grotelueschen able to feel the love of her teams as she was subbed off right after kickoff. Their love of playing for each other was on clearly on display all night. The girls were constantly trying to share the spotlight. There were undoubtedly a few highlights. One od the prettiest team goals developed with some one touch passing that got behind the backline, only to culminate with a ball passed sideways in front of the keeper to a crashing Grace Bednar. She’d be one of the scoring leaders on the night with two goals. Another highlight was the Nelson sisters playing striker together. Senior, Camryn, played limited but efficient minutes with her sister, freshmen-Rilynn. Within minutes of pairing the two together up top, Rilynn got the ball in the midfield and played a penetrating ball behind the backline. Camryn ran on to it and was able to squeeze it by the keeper for the goal. To top it off late, Kennedy Davis played a great ball across the box. Senior Courtney Gowler was crashing the box and slammed it home for a one touch goal. She was immediately engulfed by a joyful, jumping group of girls. On the night, all the seniors got on the board.
