It was another great night on the track for the Bulldogs. I’ll be honest—earlier in the day, as emails kept coming in from athletes not feeling well, it would have been easy to approach the meet with a simple “just do your best” mindset. Instead, we saw something more—an opportunity. As I’ve told the athletes, competing in a big invite isn’t always about winning, which isn’t always easy to say as a competitive coach. But this group continues to embrace that mindset by supporting one another, setting meaningful goals, and pushing beyond their perceived limits. With some of our younger athletes stepping up and our varsity group showing real grit, the team came together for an outstanding overall performance. It was one of those meets that reminds you we’re not only competing in the present—we’re building something strong for the future. PB = Personal Best, SB = Season Best — and it’s been so exciting to see those still happening this late in the season. Special Note: Cecily Smith scored in 4 events (4x800, PV, 400, 4x400) Anniston Huff scored in 3 events (4x800, 800, 4x400) These two were asked ot do a lot tonight. Pretty cool that they didn't just fill a spot, but they embraced the opportunity. For Cecily, the 4x400 was brought to her as the race was about to begin. No hesitation from her. Thankful for that.
