The Bulldogs earned a strong second-place finish to the Braves in a meet that featured outstanding performances, personal bests, and record-breaking moments all evening. The highlight of the day belonged to Madalyn Marx, who put together one of the best all-around performances we have seen in our program. Madalyn won the 100, 200, and 400 while also helping lead the 4x400 relay to a victory. Even more impressive, she broke meet records in all four of her events and set new school records in both the 200 and 400. It was a special night, and it gave the entire team energy throughout the meet. One of the things that stood out most was our depth. In a meet like this, scoring multiple places across events can completely change the outcome, and our athletes did a great job stepping up in those moments. In the 100, we got big points from both Madalyn Marx and Selma Tilton. In the 800, Anniston Huff got the win while Ava Cvengros added another scoring performance. Emily Anand and Paige Jansen gave us great distance depth by scoring in both the 1600 and 3200. We also had a really nice race from Sydney Bohannen in the 200 with a personal best performance and valuable team points. Cecily Smith ran a personal record in the 400 to score. Our field event group continued to compete extremely well. Cecily Smith won the pole vault while Finley Smith added more points with a third-place finish. Hannah Martin and Alyssa Gray both scored in the horizontal jumps, and our throwers continued to make a huge impact. Amaya Hine and Hannah Martin scored in the shot put, while Reagan Ericson had a great day in discus with a third-place finish. I was also really excited about what we saw from our younger sprint relays. Our 4x100 and 4x200 groups competed hard all night against some very strong competition. Those races are giving a lot of our younger athletes valuable experience, and it is exciting to think about where those groups can be by the end of the season and in the years ahead. Sydney Bohannen, Layla Koroyanis, Isabella Brown, Keira Sternhagen, and Alyssa Gray continue to improve each week. Our relay groups were outstanding overall. The 4x400 team of Madalyn Marx, Anniston Huff, Evelyn Hillard, and Selma Tilton broke the four-minute barrier in a huge win, while the 4x800 team of Anniston Huff, Taylor Mills, Cecily Smith, and Kennedy Ashby battled to a great runner-up finish. Overall, it was just a really good day for our team. We had record-setting performances, personal bests, great depth across events, and athletes stepping up in big moments. Most importantly, the energy and support our athletes showed for each other all day long continues to make this group special. It was another great day to be a Bulldog. Another huge shout-out to the relay alternates that traveled with us- Cora Ummel, Kebe Kellenberger, and Katelyn Waisath. While they didn't get to race, they showed up big for their teammates. Coaches are so proud. The atmosphere was electric, and the culture strong.
