Varsity vs Normal Community High School (1 - 1) Tie 1st half MS 0 Normal 1 Final 1-1 MS moves to 16-3-2 on the season with a road draw at Normal Community. The intensity felt like a physical postseason game and both teams played well under the pressure. It was another game of two halves depending on who had the wind. Community struck in the first half slipping behind the backline multiple times. Lainey Jacobs had a huge half with 5 saves, 4 of which were her one on one with the attacker. The returning all-sectional keeper showed what she could do, keeping the Bulldogs only down one going into half. In the second half, the Bulldogs got the wind and were able to create a plethora of dangerous chances on goal. The mids and fullbacks made some good adjustments to deal with some different looks that we've been working on. For the goal, Izzy Lietz was able to drive with the ball and find a small seam between the backline. Paislee Welge was able to drop a shoulder into the defender and clear a lane to carry the ball towards goal. She finished it past the keeper to draw the game. The Bulldogs will go on the road again to close out the regular season against Morton, a side that's entering at 18-1-1.
