Mahomet Seymour High School

On Saturday, September 19th, the Mahomet-Seymour High School Boys XC team competed in the Richard Spring Invitational at Detweiller Park in Peoria. This is our 26th year attending the meet. There were three boys races–a varsity race at 8:40am, a boys fresh soph race at 10:00am, and a boys open race at 11:20am. In the varsity race, 88 teams competed, with 80 being complete teams. There were 658 individual finishers. MSHS placed 15th. Our scorers were Tate Bode (49th), Adam Smigielski (61st), Abdel Abdo (74th), Tay Gergen (137th), and Carter Alderks (254th). In the fresh soph race, 66 teams competed, with 56 being complete teams. There were 489 individual finishers MSHS placed 21st. Our scorers were Gavin McMinn (59th), Jake Mills (69th), Wyatt Kearns (101st), Will Bednar (199th), and Lucas Demos (236th). In the open race, 48 teams competed, with 35 being complete teams. There were 521 individual finishers. MSHS placed 14th. Our scorers were Garen Johnson-Farkhoyan (47th), Blake Patrick (146th), Dax Taylor (170th), Bernardo Allan Pinto (186th), and Matthew Gray (200th). We keep records of the fastest individual and team times for MSHS at this meet. Tate Bode ran the 7th fastest MSHS senior time ever at this meet with his 15:17. Adam Smigielski ran the 13th fastest MSHS junior time ever at this meet with his 15:28. Tay Gergen ran the 22nd fastest MSHS junior time ever at this meet with his 15:58. Abdel Abdo ran the 4th fastest MSHS sophomore time ever at this meet with his 15:32. Gavin McMinn ran the 7th fastest MSHS freshman time ever at this meet with his 16:28. Wyatt Kearns ran the 22nd fastest MSHS freshman time ever at this meet with his 17:02. We keep records of the fastest MSHS 3-mile times on any course. We had a few runners move up/join this list. Tate Bode is the 17th fastest senior we have ever had. Abdel Abdo is the 6th fastest sophomore we have ever had. Gavin McMinn is the 14th fastest freshman we have ever had. We had 14 runners run lifetime 3-mile bests–Abdel Abdo, Lucas Demos, Kiptyn Fan, Matthew Gray, Everest Guerrero, Garen Johnson-Farkhoyan, Wyatt Kearns, Jackson Koontz, Gavin McMinn, Jake Mills, Corbin Moser, Dax Taylor, Eric Webber, and Henry Welch.
