Mahomet Seymour High School

The MSHS Girls Cross Country team had a great day finishing 12th out of 68 teams at the Peoria Notre Dame Richard Spring Invite. MSHS finished as the top 1A/2A school. Anniston Huff placed 11th out of 566 runners. She ran the 6th fastest time in school history with a new PR of 17:45. Paige Jansen, 2nd for our team, was just a few seconds shy of her PR, running 18:46. Ashley Martin was close behind with a new PR of 18:51. Ava Cvengros, our 4th runner, also just missed a new PR. Freshmen Jane Hartman and Cora Kasper had excellent races both coming in at 19:29 dropping significant time from their previous bests. Rounding out our varsity lineup for the day were Kennedy Ashby, Chandler Mills (new PR of 20:24), Cecily Smith and Finley Smith. In the F/S race, the girls competed well. Four runners set new PRs: Jilyan Clark (21:11) Paige Pruitt (21:35), Genevieve McMurry (21:38), Norah Oprondek (23:12). Additionally, in the open race, Bristol Pride (23:05) and Emily Christensen (23:05) both set new marks.
