Cross Country (Boys V) Scores

The Mahomet-Seymour High School Boys Cross Country team competed in the East Peoria Invitational at Illinois Central College on Saturday 12 schools competed in the meet, with 10 of those schools bringing complete teams (5 or more runners). There was a varsity race and a junior varsity race. We put all our runners in the varsity race. The team placed 1st. This is our first time winning the meet since 2017. Mahomet-Seymour won with 35 points, Morton placed 2nd with 36 points, and Normal (University) placed 3rd with 92 points. Our scorers today were junior Auggie Gaudio, junior Henry McMurry, senior Lukas Nykaza, senior Kaleb Kasper, and sophomore Tate Bode. Top 20 medal. We had 7 medalists. This ties our program record--we also had 7 medalists in 2015 and 2016. Medalists include junior Auggie Gaudio (2nd), junior Henry McMurry (5th), senior Lukas Nykaza (7th), senior Kaleb Kasper (10th), sophomore Tate Bode (11th), freshman Adam Smigielski (13th), and senior Zach Wilcoski (16th). We keep records of the fastest times run by class for MSHS runners at the East Peoria Invitational. Lukas Nykaza ran the 24th fastest MSHS senior time with a 16:30. Kaleb Kasper ran the 25th fastest MSHS senior time with a 16:44. Auggie Gaudio ran the 12th fastest MSHS junior time with a 15:45. Henry McMurry ran the 19th fastest MSHS junior time with a 16:11. Tate Bode ran the 19th fastest MSHS sophomore time with a 16:49. Adam Smigielski ran the 14th fastest MSHS freshman time with a 16:51. Freshman Adam Smigielski, freshman Kiptyn Fan, and freshman Henry Welch all ran lifetime 3-mile personal bests. The team will not be competing next weekend. The team's next competition will be the Gene Jones Runnin' Red Metamora Invitational on Saturday, October 12th, followed by the Apollo Conference Meet on Tuesday, October 15th.
