Varsity vs Central High School (3 - 2) Win MS (2-1-1) went on the road and had a gritty come from behind win to give the Central Maroons their first loss of the year (3-1.) The Bulldogs settled for playing long in the first half and did not prioritize connecting on the ground outside of the defensively compact midfield level of Central. In the half, both teams had a defensive miscue that cost each team a sloppy goal concession to end the first half at 1-1. Central moved players to a higher attacking formation second half but the stout Bulldog backline absorbed the pressure until about 25 to go. Central's star striker took a shot from about 30 out and snuck it over the Bulldog keeper. With the possible undercurrents of a shifting soccer landscape, the Bulldogs were able to dig deep in the final 20. Paislee Welge had two sizzling free kicks, one of which was the equalizer for the Dogs. With the Bulldogs still pushing with under three to go, Gwen Cambron was able to shake off the phantom of past injuries and was able to get on the back end of a ball from Hannah Creel to give the Bulldogs the win. JV Dogs cruised to another victory.
