Varsity vs Rochester High School (2 - 3) Loss MS went on the road and dropped to 5-4-2 to a 10-4 Rochester squad. The Bulldogs had a very strong first half but weren’t able to match it with their second half. It was a solid game against a good opponent. It was a strong back and forth first half with the Bulldogs getting on the board first with Isabel Lietz laying a ball off to Hannah Creel who hit it from range over the keeper. Rochester fired back. Lainey Jacobs was able to make a first and second save, but the Rockets were able to find the back of the net with the rebound to the rebound. In the second half, Rochester was able to find a a hole in the back line and slot it through to a running attacker who put the Rockets up. With under 20 left, Paislee Welge made an attacking run beating her player to the corner and finding Grace Binkley in the box who hammered it past the keeper. With under 10, the Bulldog defense got caught stepping forward and weren’t able to recover on the fly with Rochester taking a late lead. The Bulldogs go on the road to Taylorville tomorrow, followed by a huge home game Thursday against Mt. Zion.
