Varsity vs Mt Zion High School (3 - 1) Win MS moves to 7-4-2 with a home win over Mt. Zion. It puts the Bulldogs back in contention for a conference title after an earlier season loss to Mt. Zion, who fell to 10-5. The Bulldogs got on the board early in the first half off a corner kick, with Gwen Cambron heading it back across the goal. Erika Johnson was able to rise above and head the ball into the back of the net. The Bulldogs had good control of the first half, but the half ended 1-0. In the second half, Izzy Lietz had one of the best goals of the year, with a clean volley out of the air on a ball that was played in from wide from defender Hadley Groteleuschen. Hadley had one of her best attacking days, often finding space to overload the outside and throwing the Brave defense out of order. Fellow defender Paislee Welge was able to get an assist as well, finding Jaycee Fancher for the third Bulldog goal on the day. Mt. Zion battled back and scored a nice goal from the top of the box to close it to 3-1, but there wasn't enough left in the tank to further test the Dogs. The Bulldogs will play Charleston at home on Tuesday at 5pm.
