Varsity vs Springfield High School Loss The Bulldog season ended in the sectional semi with a 0-4 result against Springfield. The Bulldogs moved to 15-6-2, while Springfield improved to 23-1-1. The girls were extremely resilient this week. Kids moved positions and changed to a more defensive formation to account for losing two time All-State center back Paislee Welge in the regional final. Our girls played really well as a group. Holland Martin was vocal and a great senior leader of the backline. Keeper Lainey Jacobs looked like a star keeping the Bulldogs close. Camryn Nelson had a great night with the difficult assignment of man-marking Springfield’s offensive focal point. Springfield puts out possibly the strongest frontline I’ve seen over my years. They have three girls that are each extremely dangerous To counter that, the mids played very compact and gave possession for most of the field to Springfield. The girls did a great job of it. Jacobs had 14 saves on the night.
